Equipment for cutting a vertical continuous casting into lengths consists of a frame which carries a cutting tool and is displaceable along a vertical support parallel to the casting withdrawal direction. The support consists of a column with pivots at its ends to allow it to rotate about a vertical axis. The column is normally locked in its working position by a locking mechanism. The frame is fixed to and can rotate with the column. The cutting equipment can be displaced from its working position to facilitate its maintenance and provide easy access to the continuous casting plant.
