<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the load of a computer main body and also to omit the individual production of programs by using a coordinate axis setting means and a coordinate information generating means in addition to a position indicating means which indicates a desired position on a coordinate input board. CONSTITUTION:A coordinate input board 1 contains coordinate detecting electrode wires formed toward coordinate axes Xd and Yd respectively with fixed spaces. The edges 13 and 15 opposite to two sides 9 and 11 of a rectangular scale 7 forming a right angle show the new coordinate axes Xc and Yc which are set by the rule 7 serving as a coordinate setting means. Then, an intersecting point Sc is defined as the original point of a new coordinate system. When the tip 5 of an input pen 3 has a contact with a desired point, a CPU 43 connects a selection circuit 33 to a fixed detecting element 17 on a coordinate axis Yc and impressed the scan pulses the electrode wires set in both axes Xd and Yd. Then, the coordinate information on a point set at a lower end 21 is obtained by making use of the ratio of levels among those pulses induced at the end 21 of the element 17 together with the coordinate information on the tip 5. Based on these coordinate information, the component elements of the coordinate axis of a desired point can be calculated.</p> |
