PURPOSE:To form a cyan dye image independently of benzyl alcohol by using a specified 2,5-diacylamino type cyan coupler as the coupler of a color photographic material. CONSTITUTION:A cyan coupler represented by the general formula [where R is a straight or branched chain 1-20 C alkylene, R1 is A1A2N- (where each of A1 and A2 is H, acyl, alkyl or aryl, and A1 and A2 may form a 5- or 6-membered ring together with N, yet they are not H simultaneously), alkyl, aryl or a heterocyclic ring, R2 is alkyl, aryl, a heterocyclic ring or said A1A2N-, R3 is H or halogen, X is arylene, alkylene or a bivalent heterocyclic ring, Z is H or an eliminable group, and n is 1 or 2]is used. This coupler causes the coupling reaction independently of benzyl alcohol in a color developer. |
