ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC MATERIAL HAVING IMPROVED PROTECTIVE OVERCOAT LAYER

Protective overcoat layers for electrophotographic materials are provided. Such layers comprise a polymer containing units having the structure:

wherein:
a is 29 to 96 weight percent of the polymer;
b is 2 to 25 weight percent of the polymer; and
c is 2 to 46 weight percent of the polymer.
An especially preferred embodiment of the present invention provides an overcoat layer as described above that also includes a cross-linking agent.
The present invention encompasses an electrophotographic material comprising, in the following order:
an electrically conducting support or a support having an electrically conducting layer;
a photoconductive layer; and
an electrically insulating overcoat layer as described above.
