1. Apparatus for producing hot water, for a central heating circuit (22) with an outlet (23) and a return (24) of the type comprising : - a hot water-producing generator, such as a central heating boiler (11, 14) or a heat accumulator with hydroaccumulation (15), through which flows the water of the central heating circuit (22) and in which said generator comprises a connector (20) placed in low position ; - a modular element (10) for electrical heating adapted on the upper part of said generator, constituted by an enclosure (1) through which the heating circuit water (22) also flows and in which may circulate the hot water flowing out of said generator (11, 14, 15), said enclosure comprising : at least one horizontal electric heating element (3) ; at least a first connector (5) connecting the enclosure (1) of the module (10) to the high part of said hot water generator (11, 14, 15) ; at least a second connector (6) connecting the enclosure (1) either to the outlet pipe (23) of the central heating circuit (22), or to the tank producing sanitary hot water (16), or separately and distinctly to one and the other, said connector being placed on one face of the enclosure (1) distinct from that comprising the first connector (5) ; at least a third connector (26) placed on a lateral face of said enclosure (1) ; - and a control box controlling the electrical supply and the programming of the module (10) and of the generator (11, 14, 15) ; characterized : - on the one hand, in that the first connector (5) connects the low part of the enclosure (1) to the high part of said generator (11, 14, 15) and is permanently open : - on the other hand, in that said apparatus comprises switching means (25) controlled by a motor (30), which latter is supplied with electricity and programmed by the control box, in order to connect : either the enclosure (1) via the third connector (26) to the return (24) of the central heating circuit (22) when the electrical heating element (3) of the module (10) is operative, so that the water flowing out of said return circuit (24) is entirely directed onto said enclosure (1) ; or the generator (11, 14, 15) via the connector (20) situated at the low part of said generator (11, 14, 15) to the return circuit (24) of the central heating (22), so that the water flowing out of said return circuit (24) is entirely directed onto said generator (11, 14, 15) when said generator (11, 14, 15) is switched on.
