Protective outer cladding for chimney stack - has e.g. four heat resistant plates hinged together to permit collapsing for transport

The protective outer cladding is intended for a chimney stack and consists of heat-resistant plates which can be fitted side by side and/or above one another so as to enclose the stack parallel to its outer wall. The plates may be connected via hinges which are arranged such that the assembly is collapsible for transport. The cladding may consist of four plates which can be hinged together via a diagonal. The plates may be provided with inwardly extending strips or U-sections along their upper edges which mutually engage when collapsed. The hinges may be outwardly protected by e.g. L-section strips whilst sealing material is provided between each strip and the hinge.
