PURPOSE:To obtain a catalyst with durability which is not deteriorated by an alkali by a method wherein a carrier of heterogeneous catalyst is formed from a double structure consisting of a carrier base material and a carrier layer and a specific composition is contained in said base material and said carrier layer respectively. CONSTITUTION:In the heterogeneous catalyst consisting of a carrier base material for the carrier thereof, a carrier layer and a catalytic substance, the carrier base material contains 70wt% or more silicon oxide, 0.1wt% or more aluminum oxide and 1wt% or more rare earth element or oxide thereof or titanium oxide, and the carrier layer contains two kinds or more of mixed crystals selected from silicon oxide, aluminum oxide, zirconium oxide and titanium oxide. This heterogeneous catalyst hardly generates the breakage of the catalyst carrier or the catalytic substance even if an alkali component is contained in reactants and is excellent in durability. |
