NEW MATERIAL:The antibiotic substance BBM-928D having the following characteristics. Solubility, soluble in chloroform and methylene chloride, slightly soluble in benzene, ethanol, methanol and n-butanol, insoluble in water and n-hexane; color reactions, positive to ferric chloride reaction and Ehrlich reaction, negative to Tollens, Sakaguchi and ninhydrin reagents; melting point, 224-227 deg.C; specific rotation, [alpha]D<25>=-13 deg. (C=1, CHCl3); elemental analysis (%), C 50.75, H 5.25, N 12.58, O 31.42, etc. USE:An antitumor agent. PREPARATION:An actinomycete G455-101 strain is subjected to fermentation culture in an aqueous solution containing assimilable carbon source and assimilable nitrogen source under deep aeration condition preferably at 30-32 deg.C. |
