The invention relates to a circuit for providing audio-frequency energy. In the case of model railways, it is normal to supply the lights of the carriages and other loads together with the operating voltage for the locomotive motors via the rails as live and return lines. This results in all the loads being supplied with a variable operating voltage, depending on the desired speed of the locomotives. In order to overcome this disadvantage, the invention proposes a circuit having a square-wave generator and amplifiers which are connected to the power supply, a series-resonant tuned circuit (6), comprising a capacitance (8) and an inductance (7), being arranged in series, according to the invention, with the amplifier output (A1) of the generator circuit for the square wave, which tuned circuit (6) converts the rectangular waveform of the audio-frequency energy into sinusoidal form, essentially without any losses. <IMAGE>
