The invention relates to a DC motor without a commutator, for example for gyro application. The rotor (4) of the motor is fitted with permanent magnets (14, 15) at the ends, which magnets are polarised alternately in the circumferential direction. The stator consists of at least two phases which are switched by means of solid-state sensors. According to the invention, the coils (18-21) of these phases are arranged, at the ends with respect to the permanent magnets, on boards (16, 17) on which the commutation electronics and the sensors are also mounted. At the same time, printed circuits are also fitted on these boards, which printed circuits electrically connect the individual components. The coils consist of a winding former in which two connecting pins are mounted. The ends of the coil wire which is wound on the winding former are welded to the connecting pins. The entire coil is fixed on the board and soldered to the conductor tracks by means of the connecting pins, like an electrical component. <IMAGE>
