<p>A method of manufacturing a punching unit and a device including such a punching unit for simultaneously cutting one or more wrappers from a tobacco leaf, said method comprising the steps of bending a knife blade strip (2) into a closed form corresponding to the wrapper circumference, of arranging a filling body (4), preferably of synthetic resin inside the closed form and of arranging one or a plurality of the knife forms (2) with the enclosed filling body (4) on a carrier (1), said device comprising said punching unit provided with a composite knife group manufactured by the method, rolling means (8) adapted to reciprocate along a supporting body, above said composite knife group and a leaf pick-up member wherein the composite knife group can be directed above the level of the rolling means by means of a common expelling member of the carrier.</p> |
