Shut-off safety valve is especially designed to shut off the flow of inflammable gas should its pressure fall below a critical value and is constructed from readily manufactured parts simply assembled by screw connections. At least the lower part of the valve hood (15) forms a part of the valve chamber which contains a cage (22) in which moves the valve piston (6) located at the end of a rod (10). The cage is held in place by the hood whereby a seal (21) is held against a piston seat (4) when the hood is screwed on to the valve body (1). The cage, seals and supporting discs (23, 24, 25) are located in the chamber between the upper border of the cage and the floor of the valve hood.
