PURPOSE:To reduce lift amount and equalize the movement of each valve by providing a by-pass for the leak of cooling water on the side wall of an exhaust side chamber close to the surface of a valve body seat of a pressure controlling valve provided on each cylinder of a water cooled engine. CONSTITUTION:On a cylinder head 16a of a water cooled engine is provided a cooling water inlet chamber 26 and a pressure control valve having upper and lower guide members is provided on a cylinder head cover 17a mounted facing the cooling water inlet chamber 26. The valve body 3 of the pressure control valve is seated over the cylinder head cover 17a and is pushed against the valve hole 28 to close it by a spring 36 that touches a valve cover 30 having an exit chamber 32. When the cooling water pressure increases and pushes up the valve body 33 against the force of the spring 36, the cooling water leaks through a by-pass provided on the side wall 32a of the exit chamber 32 near the valve seat surface, reducing the lift amount. |
