<p>The present invention relates generally to a laser beam machine for cutting sheet metal workpieces and more particularly to a dust collecting apparatus therefor. The apparatus comprises a first filter chamber in which a bucket and an air filter are provided beneath a working area, a second filter chamber in which a liquid filter is communicated with a vacuum pump, and a device for introducing fumes into the liquid filter from the first filter chamber through the air filter. An aspirator is positioned between the working area and the first filter chamber for the purpose of sucking the fumes into the first filter chamber. The aspirator may include a venturi tube. The first filter chamber provides an ancillary bed on the bottom thereof for molten metal slag. The second filter chamber provides a bubble breaker and a moisture separator.</p> |
