PURPOSE:To make the practical evaluation of flame retardant property possible by burning a sample in a constant atmosphere via electroheating resistance wires of a constant spacing and determining the quantity of heat from hot air flow and the velocity of hot air flow by a metallic wind wheel, etc. CONSTITUTION:Electroheating resistances 14... are wound at every spacing on a sample 15 such as plastic molding, and the sample 15 is burned in a contant atmosphere satisfying imperfect combustion conditions in the atmosphere where a fire breaks out actually, whereby hot air flow is generated. The temp. of this hot air flow is measured by a thermocouple 33, and the velocity of the hot air flow is measured by means of the contacts 26 of a reloving shaft 22 for vanes 23 and 24 forming a wind wheel, a contactor 27, a digital counter 32, etc. From the temp. and velocity of the hot air flow, the quantity of heat is determined, and the evaluation of practical flame retardant property in the state near a fire outbreak state is accomplished. |
