PURPOSE:To prevent information contents after conversion from becoming indefinite by converting a general character of some code system into one character of a desired converted code system, and a special character into a sequence of characters of the converted code system. CONSTITUTION:A character CI of some unconverted code system is inputted from an input terminal P1 to a special character detecting function block B1. This block B1 receives the character CI to discriminate between a general character to be converted into one character CN of a desired converted code system and a special character to be converted into a sequence CM of characters. When the discrimination result shows the general character, a general character code converting function block B2 performs usual code conversion and when the special character, a special character code converting function block B2 performs code conversion to the sequence CM of characters. |
