PURPOSE:To lower the pressure loss of an enclosed compressor and to reduce the amount of oil to be circulated, by communicating the upper side and the lower side of a motor section by forming projections or attaching pipes to a casing. CONSTITUTION:A motor section 2 consisting of a stator 2a and a rotor 2b is disposed in a casing 1. The casing 1 is formed with projections 17, for instance, at the portions thereof facing core cuts 16 of the stator 2a, so that the upper side and the lower side of the motor section 2 are communicated with each other via the projections 17. Since, with such an arrangement, the area of passages at the core cuts 16 of the motor 2 is increased, velocity of the gas flow through the passages is lowered, and resultantly, pressure loss of the gas flow is reduced. Further, since oil discharged to the upper side of the motor 2 and collected there is returned to a lower portion of the compressor by the function of its own gravity, the amount of oil to be circulated can be reduced and the amount of oil retained in the compressor can be increased. |
