PURPOSE:To enable to lower the level of noises and vibration produced in piping for a double suction type pump, by taking out pulsations of pressure produced through rotation of two impellers separately from each other, and minimizing the pulsations of pressure by joining them together. CONSTITUTION:Pulsations of pressure are produced through interference between the outlets of vanes of a right and a left impellers 2, 2' having vanes arranged with displacement of 1/2 pitch to each other and a right and a left tongue portions 3, 3' of a pump casing 1, at a right and a left outlet passages B', B'' separated by a partition wall 5. Phases of the pulsations of pressure thus produced are shifted 1/2 pitch from each other. At a joining portion of the outlet passage B at the end 5a of the partition wall 5, the crest of one pulsation is superposed with the trough of the other pulsation, so that the pulsations are cancelled with each other and attenuated accordingly. |
