PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of water hammering phenomenon with a simple structure having an entire length substantially equal to those of conventional submergible pumps, by fixing a flywheel to the inner end portion of a motor section near a shaft sealing portion in the manner that it is made integral with the motor shaft. CONSTITUTION:At the time of stopping operation of a submergible pump shown in the drawing, it is not stopped abruptly by the function of the inertia force of a flywheel 11 which is fixed, in a unitary manner, to a motor shaft 10 functioning also as a pump shaft, at the inner end portion of a motor section 1 near a shaft sealing portion 2. That is, it is stopped while decreasing its speed of rotation and the water discharge rate gradually, so that water hammer phenomenon is not caused even if the discharge pipe is fairly long. Further, since the flywheel 11 is not exposed in water, trouble such as loss due to resistance of water and entangling of foreign matter will not occur. |
