PURPOSE:To collect the titled novel antibiotic, by cultivating a microorganism belonging to the genus Dactylosporangium, capable of producing the titled substance. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism such as Dactylosporangium sp.-2107 (FERM P 5351), etc., belonging to the genus Dactylosporangium, capable of producing antibiotic SF-2107B or SF-2107C, is cultivated. A medium comprising a carbon source, a nitrogen source, inorganic salts, useful for cultivating common Actynomyces, is used as the medium, and the microorganism is cultivated aerobiacally. A liquid part is removed from the culture by filtration, hydrous acetone, hydrous methanol, etc. is added to the solid part, an active ingredient is extracted with a solvent, the solvent is distilled away, and extracted with ethyl acetate, etc. When the active ingredient is contained in the filtrate part, it is extracted with ethyl acetate, etc. The solvent such as ethyl acetate is concentrated, and SF-2107B substance and/or SF-2107C substance are obtained by combining chromatography and countercurrent distribution operation. |
