PURPOSE:To highly efficiently remove hydrogen halide with a simple treatment system, by bringing the hydrogen oxide, contained in waste gas, into contact with iron oxide, and reusing the iron oxide after rinsing with water. CONSTITUTION:Waste gas, such as a waste gas of a refuse incinerator containing Hcl and other harmful substances, is brought into contact with iron oxide at about 50-400 deg.C. By this way, the Hcl and other harmful substances, contained in the waste gas, are removed and; the iron oxide, being lowered its removing efficiency, is regenerated by rising with water, and reused. The oxides of iron are mainly composed of divalent ferrous oxides, tervalent ferric oxides and a mixture of both oxides, and especially Fe2O3 is preferable. Any of a moving bed, a fluidized bed, and a fixed bed is accessible for the gas-solid catalytic form between the waste gas and the iron oxides. Further, the forms of the iron oxide, powdered or granulated, are both well matched for this purpose. |
