The invention relates to a device for cutting foodstuffs, in particular into strips, cubes or the like, having a cutter block which is detachably mounted on the device and possesses cutter gates which are guided and held by a guide frame. The aim is to reduce the expenditure for producing guide frames, to increase user friendliness and to improve the quality of cut of the product to be processed. The object is to provide a guide frame which is substantially simpler in design and which guides the product to be processed better, even in the frozen, hard and tough state. According to the invention, each cutter gate is assigned two guide pieces. The latter, connected positively to one another to form a structural unit, form the guide frame of the cutter block. Arranged inside this guide frame formed in this way are two mutually opposite post-compressors. These post-compressors consist of an acute-angled moulding. Incorporated into the post-compressors are slots which serve for receiving and guiding the gate cutters.
