PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of a liq. crystal in an electrooptical display device due to aging by washing parts to be washed for the device with a washing soln. contg. a nonionic surfactant. CONSTITUTION:Substrates 7, 8 of glass, plastics or the like for an electrooptical display device, especially a liq. crystal display device, upper and lower electrode plates 1, 2 formed by laying electrically conductive films 1, 2 on the substrates 7, 8 and the electrode plates 1, 2 coated with insulating layers 4, 6 are washed with a washing soln. contg. 0.1-30wt% nonionic surfactant such as polyethylene glycol monostearate in each process. The washed plates 1, 2 are stuck together with a sealant 9 in-between to form a cell, and a liq. crystal 10 is sealed in the cell. Thus, the deterioration of the liq. crystal especially in orientation due to aging can be improved effectively. |
