<p>PURPOSE:To improve the presumptive accuracy of a rolling load and the accuracy of sheet thickness for controllng the thickness of steel sheets in hot rolling, by taking the actual atmospheric temp. and water temp. into the presumptive equation for the temp. of a steel sheet in the coolng process of hot rolled steel sheets. CONSTITUTION:After a steel strip is heated in a heating furnace 1 and the scale is peeled off from the surface by a descaling device 2, the initial surface temp. of the slab is measured with a thermometer 3 installed at the inlet side of a rolling mill. The measured surface temp. is calculated in terms of the mean temp. with a computor 5, and further the temp. drop caused by air-cooling or water- cooling is computed. Further, the slab temp. is obtained by estimating the temp. change of the slab during rolling. The mean deformation resistance is computed from said temp. by using the computor 5, and further the rolling load is obtained. The position of the screw in a rolling mill 4 is set based on these values, to control the rolling force of the mill 4.</p> |
