<p>2',3'-Dideoxyuridine derivs. of formula (I) are new: (where Y is halogen, X is NH2 or N3, and the wavy line indicates the erythro or threo configuration). (I) are antiviral agents with low toxicity and high and specific activity against herpes simplex, e.g. with ID5O values as low as 0.07-0.2 mcg/ml against HSV-1 and 20 mcg/ml against HSV-2. E-5-(2-bromovinyl)-3'-amino- 2',3'-dideoxyuridine (Ia) is specifically claimed.</p> |
