PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a current for adsorption while greatly reducing a current when a plunger is in operation, by using a magnetic latch type plunger for a plunger mechanism and driving it with a pulse-like current. CONSTITUTION:A plunger 39 which drives a plunger pin coupled with a fitting metal for a magnetic head is composed of a magnetic latch type plunger. In a yoke 40 constituting the magnetic circuit of the plunger, a permanent magnet 41 and an iron core 42 are provided. Pulse switching circuits 51 and 52 are connected to a suction coil 46 and a resetting coil 47 to flow a pulse-like current through said coils 46 and 47. This constitution reduces a current for the operation of the plunger greatly and eliminates the need for a current for holding the adsorption state.
