A measuring train (1) is described, with wheels (10) for riding on a rail (R) to be examined, and at least one examination apparatus (20) at a short distance above such a rail (R); wherein the examination apparatus (20) is provided with an accessory (40) arranged next to the apparatus (20), which extends beyond the apparatus (20) in the longitudinal direction of the rail (R), and which has a flange (41) directed downward with respect to the apparatus (20) in such a way that, when said wheels (10) are located on a rail (R), said flange (41) extends next to a bearing head of the rail (R); and wherein the examination apparatus (20) is provided with at least one filling piece (50; 60) positioned at a short distance in front of or behind the apparatus (20) and located at a short distance above the rail (R).
