<p>PURPOSE:To optimize controlling of thickness of a sheet by properly interchanging a gauge-meter system with a feed-forward system mutually for utilizing their chracteristics efficiently. CONSTITUTION:An interchanging device 36 switches basing on a sheet thickness deviation 39 produced by a setting valve 42 given to a press-down control device 37 which is derived from a rolling load 41, or switches basing on a sheet thickness deviatin 40 detected at a stand in the upstream side. The discrimination of interchanging is based on the sheet-thickness deviation, detected at the upper- stream-side stand, by a discrimination device 35. Under the condition that the variatin of sheet thickness is expected; a feed-forwad system is adopted when high-frequency components, which cause the delay under a press-down controlling system, are large, and a gauge-meter system is adopted when said components are small. As a discriminating method for quantity of high-frequency components is whether large or small said method is performed from the distribution of said componetns, obtined from the components of the sheet thickness deviation, detected at the present time. Further, for the thickness variations presently detected, the discrimination is performed from the rate of varying quantity which exceeds a fixed value, by checking said quantity per unit time.</p> |
