A shearer drum with spirally running blades or webs has a rotatable outer cylinder to which several spiral webs are welded on the outside. The spiral webs extend radially or generally radially to the axis of rotation of the cylinder, in which arrangement several elongated pick holders are welded at a distance from one another along the web outer edges pointing away from the cylinder, and each pick holder has an extension or a projection onto which a correspondingly hollowed-out pick is slipped in a releasable manner. <IMAGE>
