The strap, which especially forms an upholstery strap for furniture, consists of a flat strap piece (1) which is provided at least at one end with an integrally cast-on plastic connection element (3). The connection element (3) surrounds, on all sides, the strap end provided with a fold (4) secured by welding. To increase the load-bearing capacity, provision is made for a connection hook (10) to be recessed into the connection element (3), said connection hook extending towards the side facing away from the strap piece (1) and having an inner anchoring end (11) which preferably engages in a loop region (5) of the strap end formed by the fold (4). <IMAGE>
