The invention provides a description of a double-pipe cooler which consists of at least one double pipe, preferably made from aluminium, which is constructed from two pipes arranged concentrically in one another and on whose end regions there are arranged distributor stubs which have a neck with a feed duct extending perpendicularly to the pipe axes and via which the oil or the like which is to be cooled is fed to or extracted from the double pipe. According to the invention, it is provided that the distributor stub is constructed as a sealing stopper which can be mounted coaxially with the cylindrical connecting regions on the ends of the inner and outer pipes which form the double pipe, and is provided with a chamber which is connected to the feed duct and is situated between the connecting regions for the pipes. The advantages of the invention reside in that the distributor stub of the type of a sealing stopper need only be used plugged over the end regions of the double pipe and is held securely there, with the result that there is no longer any need to weld the inner and outer pipes forming the double pipe. In addition, the distributor stub itself need no longer be soldered or welded to the outer pipe for the purpose of axial securement. As a result, it is possible to use aluminium pipes, e.g. for the double pipe, which permit the implementation of high heat exchanger efficiencies. |
