An electronically controlled fuel injection device contains a solenoid-operated fuel injection valve in an inlet duct, which is connected upstream to the intake pipe of an internal combustion engine, and a pressure governor, which controls the pressure of the fuel delivered to the fuel injection valve. The fuel injection device also has an enrichment jet, which opens into a Venturi section formed in the inlet duct and is connected to a return line, through which the excess fuel delivered by the fuel pressure governor is led back to a fuel tank. In the fuel duct leading to the enrichment jet is a valve element which opens the fuel duct when the air flow in the inlet duct is increased beyond a given level. As a result, during high-speed and heavy load operation of the internal combustion engine the fuel is also delivered through the enrichment jet to the inlet duct. <IMAGE>
