PURPOSE:To improve the resolving power of measurement by inputting modulating signals of sine waves and consine waves respectively to two magnetism detecting bodies connected differentially with two pieces of magnetoresistance elements and outputting the measurement signals of which the extents of relative movement with magnetic materials are modulated with the respective modulating signals. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic material elements 1a, 1b; 1c, 1d are connected differentially to constitute magnetism detecting bodies 2a, 2b, and modulating signals of the sine waves and consine waves in accordance with the reference pulses of a clock circuit 12 are inputted respectively to input teminals 11a, 11b. The modulated measurement signals are outputted from output terminals 4a, 4b, and from the measurement signals, the extents of relative movements of the bodies 2a, 2b and respective magnetic materials 6a, 6b, 6c are determined, and these extents of the relative movements are divided 18 by the timings of the reference pulses, whereby the length measurement units of the extents of the relative movements are decreased and the resolving power is improved without narrowing the width of the respective magnetic bodies. |
