PURPOSE:To obtain quick spread of flames at all times and to prevent combustion from weakening by a method wherein main wicks and at least part of an auxiliary wick for spreading flames are isolated by fuel impermeable insulating material and an inhibiting material for sucking up fuel is added to at least a part of the auxiliary wick. CONSTITUTION:A furnace wick is made up by pinching the auxiliary wick 2 for spreading flames between the main wicks 1, for example, and the main wicks 1 have fuel evaporating parts 6 upward and fuel sucking up parts 7 downward. The inhibiting material 4 is added in order to inhibit suction of the fuel in the auxiliary wick 2 and this is formed, for example, from inorganic heat-resisting paint and inorganic addhesives oil resistant. Besides, the insulating material 3 is provided in order to prevent the fuel from removing from the main wicks 1 to the auxiliary wick 2 and it is made from the material of same heat resistance such as aluminum foil or the like. Further, a fixing material 5 is provided in order to fix the main wicks, the auxiliary wick 2 and the insulating materal 3 and these are formed by sewing, for example, cotton or glass fibers. |
