<p>PURPOSE:To provide a device to store foods temporarily without lowering freshness of the foods, by introducing carbon dioxide gas into a storehouse and simultaneously circulating air in the storehouse through a packing layer supporting silver or a silver compound and a humectant. CONSTITUTION:A porous carrier, e.g., active carbon, silica gel, etc. is sufficiently dried, an aqueous solution of silver nitrate or silver ammonia complex is added to the dried porous material, which is evaporated to dryness to give a material. This material is immersed in a humectant such as an aqueous solution of ethylene glycol and dried to give the germicide 3, which is added to the packing layer 2. The storehouse 1 is provided with the hole 6 to introduce carbon dioxide gas, and with the fan 4 to circulate compulsorily air in the storehouse through the packing layer 2 of the germicide.</p> |
