PURPOSE:To prevent generation of the dendrite and enhance the current efficiency of a zinc-halogen battery, by making during discharge an electrolytic solution to be transmitted through from the side of a halogen electrode opposite to the zinc electrode to the side of zinc electrode and during charge from the zinc electrode side of the halogen electrode to the opposite side. CONSTITUTION:During discharge, an electrolytic solution is fed by a pump P from a solution tank 5, via a valve V3, through a path L1, valve V1, path L2, and introduced into a battery B. The electrolytic solution is forced to flow from the opposite side to a zinc electrode side of a chlorine electrode 1, and said solution flows out of the battery, through a path L3, valve V2, path L4, and returns to the tank 5. During charge, the electrolytic solution is fed by the pump P from the solution tank 5, via the valve 3, through the path L6, valve V2, and path L2 and introduced into the battery B. The electrolytic solution is forced to flow from the zinc electrode side of the chlorine electrode 1, and said solution flows out of the battery, through the path L2, valve V1, and path L6, and returns to the solution tank 5. |
