PURPOSE:To provide a roll for press which prevents the exfolication of a polyurethane rubber layer and improves physical properties by providing a specific non- porous rigid polyurethane resin layer between a core body and the polyurethane rubber layer on the surface. CONSTITUTION:A non-porous rigid polyurethane resin layer consisting of a compound contg. org. isocyanate and a functional group such as polyether reacting with this and a filler is formed to about 1-20mm. thicknesses via adhesives of phenolic type or the like on the surface of a core body such as iron core by using molds for casting, etc. This is allowed to set to >=75 hardness (Shore D). Thence, its surface is polished, after which a desired polyurethane rubber layer is coated thereon. This roll is used as a press roll for paper making, iron making, plywood, etc. By this roll constitution, the exfoliation of the polyurethane rubber on the surface is obviated and the roll is usable over a long period of time without any trouble. |
