PURPOSE:To prevent fixing irregularities by inclining a high frequency generating means upward toward a conveying direction and applying high frequency energy uniformly to a recording material. CONSTITUTION:A microwave oscillator 1 has a rectangular shape for transmitting microwaves to the direction of an arrow 2 in a waveguide 3 and is higher on the conveyance side than on the recording material admission side of a waveguide by having an angle theta to a recording material 7. Further, a large number of slits 4 are arranged in parallel at an angle of, for example, 45 deg. to a conveyance direction 6 on the surface where the rear surface on the side of supporting images of the material 7 slides, whereby the wasteful leakage of microwaves is suppressed. Next, microwave energy is annihilated by a cooler 5 provided perpendicularly to a waveguide 3. The fixed recording material is discharged by means of discharging paper conveying rollers 9 mounted upper than the extension line from the high frequency generating means in its conveyance direction. |
