PURPOSE:To enable manufacture of one-directional fiber excellent in shape maintaining property, filling property and compounding property in manufacturing reinforacing fibers used for fiber-reinforced composite member by inserting the fibers into a heat resisting tube-shaped forming mold at specified bulk density and diffusing and combining the fibers by heating. CONSTITUTION:A fiber-reinforced composite material is cast by high-pressure freezing and casting method by filling and compounding reinforcing fibers in a matrix of Al alloy under high pressure. As the reinforcing fibers, a bundle F of fibers arranged in one direction is inserted into a heat resistaing tube-shaped forming mold P such as a silica glass at bulk density of 1.5-5.0g/cc. This is heated with the forming mold P to 700-1,100 deg.C and the fibers are diffused and combined mutually in part by heating. This is used in Al alloy as a reinforcing material. Thus, a reinforcing material excellent in shape maintaing property, filling property and compounding property can be obtained. |
