PURPOSE:To obtain the compact and light printing head in comparison with conventional KANJI character printing heads by arranging bimorph type electrostrictive bending members around a circumference of recording needles and in parallel with the recording needles. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of the recording needles 1 are guided by a guide plate 3 which is fixed to a holder 2 and provided so that they can be protruded from the tip of the holder 2 or accommodated therein. The tips of the needles 1 are arranged in the direction of the columns or the rows of a dot matrix, and the rear ends are arranged in a circular shape. One end of each bimorph type electrostrictive bending members 4 is fixed to the holder 2 and the other end thereof is free. Said members 4 are arranged in a cylindrical form concentrically with respect to the recording needles 1 and also aligned in parallel or approximately parallel with each of the recording needles 1. Levers 5 are provided to expand the displacement of the memeber 4 and to transmit the result to the recording needles 1. A spring 6 whose one end is fixed to a protruded end 2a of the holder 2 is fixed to the bent part of each lever 5. |
