A new and unique bottle (10) and attachable handle (12) and method of forming and assembling the same. The bottle includes a recess (30) in its sidewall (28) which provides space for finger placement and interlocking means such as opposing projections (44) and (46) for attaching the handle (12) substantially therewithin. The handle (12) is attached to the sidewall (28) of the bottle (10) at the upper and lower portions of the recess (30) and essentially lies within the breadth of the bottle (10) and preferably substantially within the recess (30). The handle (12) and bottle (10) can be attached by interlocking, welding, bonding, or adhesive means. For such attachment the handle (12) and bottle (10) have coacting surfaces, that is handle ends (57) and (58) and projections (44) and (46), respectively, which provide vertical and horizontal bearing surfaces therebetween for lifting and carrying the bottle and for pouring therefrom. |
