<p>The method is for the bending of long metal sections (1) of uniform cross-section with the localised application of heat via a heating-collar (2). During heating, a force is applied to one end of the work while the other end is held by a pivotable arm. A constant temperature is maintained by monitoring the temperature of the external face of the work or by monitoring the air-gap. Extrados and intrados temperature detectors are used, the temperature being constantly modified to maintain a given value. The cooling of the work is effected by spraying a liquid (5) on a zone leaving the collar, the cooling medium flow applied to the upper (6A) and lower (6B) sectors being maintained approximately equal. A blown gas (9) screen may prevent the trickling of cooling liquid onto the heated zone (3).</p> |
