Marking rubber and plastic articles esp. footballs and bicycle tyres - by mixing with phosphorescent zinc sulphide

The use of phosphorescent ZnS without a binder to mark rubber or plastics esp. those exposed to high mechanical demand is claimed. The ZnS is processed with the rubber or plastic article to make it. Tyres esp. bicycle tyres can be made phosphorescent and visible to other drivers. The phosphorescence of the article is highly durable. The ZnS can also be used for phosphorescent strips for e.g. vehicle bumpers and sports articles e.g. balls esp. footballs which can be used at night under weaker flood lighting.
