The photo printing process uses a modulated laser beam that is directed onto the surface of photosensitive material designed for high quality reproduction. The output of a laser (23) is focussed (24) onto a modulator (25) and is then directed onto short focal length lens (26) and mirror (27). A rotating mirror (11) causes the laser beam to scan a meniscus lens (16). Located directly in front of the photosensitive material is a block containing an array of fibre optic elements (22). The fibre optic elements provide high resolution definition on the material.
