A flash arrangement has a multiplicity of 2n flash bulbs, which are attached to a printed circuit board and are provided in a linear arrangement in such a manner that the longitudinal axes of each lamp run in parallel. Circuit patterns provided on the circuit board contain a multiplicity of n selector connection devices, each of which is assigned to a corresponding pair of bulbs and which is connected by a lead to each of the bulbs of the associated pair, and also a common connection, which is assigned to all 2n bulbs, but is directly connected to the other lead of a lamp of each pair. The circuit board has an essentially rectangular part with n extensions arranged at a distance from each other, which extensions project at right angles from a long side of the circuit board, the extensions being arranged behind each second bulb of the linear arrangement. Each extension contains sections of the circuit pattern which lie at a distance from each other so that they form predetermined gaps, and a mass of switch material is arranged on each extension in such a manner that it bridges the gap between the circuit patterns, in order to create by this means a solid state radiation switch on each extension behind the corresponding bulb and the one neighbouring this, which switch receives radiant energy given off by the bulb. By this means, a corresponding, normally open switch is connected to each circuit board extension between the common connection and a lead to the other bulb of each bulb pair, so that the n, normally open switches are coupled between the common circuit lead of the associated pairs of 2n bulbs. <IMAGE>
