In preparing slub yarn, the patterned disign of woven or knitted fabric represents irregular appearance by means of arranging the length and interval of slub in a circulating length irregularly, thus aiming at giving slub effect with natural flavor. The irregular slub yarn is prepared by winding coating yarn to the core yarn randomly. The random movement of coating yarn is caused by varying the supplying point of coating yarn which is moved by bias-pointed cam that is driven by variable speed motor.
