A safety device for use in industrial gates, which works such that the motor-driven gate opening is mechanically disconnected should the gate, in connection with the opening, hit against an obstacle. The device comprises an articulated arm 3, which is mechanically coupled to the motor drive 4 for opening and closing of the gate. The articulated arm 3 is normally held locked by means of a spring-loaded element 1 by which the motor-driven opening motion is transmitted to the gate 7. If the gate 7, when it is opened, mechanically encounters an obstacle, the spring-loaded element 1 is activated in such a way that it is pushed away such that the articulated arm is uncoupled. The articulated arm 3 reconnects the automatic gate 7 to the motor drive 4 when the gate-driving motor is reversed after a disconnection caused by the entry into operation of the safety device. <IMAGE> |
