NEW MATERIAL:beta-Methyl-(3,3,3-trifluoropropyl)naphthalene shown by the formulaI. USE:A synthetic oil with insulation properties and dielectric properties. Having electrical properties equal to those of polychlorinated biphenyl, being easily subjected to biological decomposition in natural environment. Useful as an insulating oil for condenser, effective for the improvement and the miniaturization of a condenser and devices using it. PROCESS:beta-Methylnaphthalene shown by the formula II is reacted with 3,3,3- trifluoropropene shown by the formula III as starting materials in the presence of an acid catalyst of HF or BF3, to give a compound shown by the formulaI. |
