<p>PURPOSE:To feed copying materials smoothly in a paper feeder for feeding from the bottom of stacked copying materials by changing pressure depending upon the loadage of copying materials in such a manner that the contact resistance of stacked copying materials with a paper feed table is always kept constant. CONSTITUTION:A cassette 2 loaded with a feed opening down is provided with a copying material pressing member which is changed in its pressure depending upon the loadage of copying materials. The pressing member comprises levers 34, 35 intersecting X-like, each one end of the levers being rotatably mounted on a fixing portion 230 of a cassette inner wall surface 200, bending portions 34b, 35b of free end portions of the levers 34, 35 being fitted into elongated holes 36, 37 of a plate 31 so that the levers 34, 35 are pulled by springs 38, 39 to push the plate 31 downwards. Therefore the plate 31 is pushed downward by tension of the springs and the loading weight of the copying materials so that the contact resistance of a copying material P2' with a cassette wall surface 201 can be always kept constant.</p> |
