PURPOSE:To obtain a hybrid magnetic head having the excellent working properties and the improved other various properties, by providing a thin film magnetic layer which is formed to a magnetic path that gives a magnetic connection between a pair of magnetic blocks and has an interlinkage between a thin film coil and the magnetic flux. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd ferrite blocks 1 and 3 are adhered to each other with the intervention of a spacer 2 between them. These adhered ferrite blocks are cut equidistantly in the Y direction to form the ferrite core blocks equivalent to a magnetic head. These core blocks are fixed by means of supporters 4-1- 4-5. The upper surface of each core block is smoothed, and a thin film coil 5 and a thin film magnetic layer 6 are formed on the surface of the core block by a known thin film processing technique. For the layer 6, the magnetic resistance of a magnetic path is reduced by increasing the width than the thickness to extremely increase the sectional area. As a magnetic pole part is formed to the ferrite core block, both the satisfactory magnetic flux density and detecting sensitivity can be obtained for the reading/writing at a head gap part although the head gap part is reduced down to a size in accordance with the width of a magnetic track. |
